Search is on for the Oldest Blastrac Shot Blaster

Blastrac is preparing for the future and looking forward towards World of Concrete in January 2011, the premier show for all things concrete. With a strong presence planned for the next WOC, Blastrac is launching a search for the oldest operating 1-10D shot blaster still used for surface prep today. Blastrac is offering to prominently feature the qualifying machine in the Blastrac exhibit at WOC 2011.

You’re sure not to miss Blastrac at World of Concrete. Having the largest booth in the South Hall and right at the entrance where they have been since the show was moved to Las Vegas, Blastrac will be showing the latest in their quality line of Global Series Shot Blasters with enhanced features for greater productivity, lower operating costs, and ease of use. There is also great anticipation to present the oldest operational 1-10D shot blaster as a testament to the years of engineering and manufacturing expertise of Blastrac.

The rich history of Blastrac spans nearly 35 years, with a heritage that began with technology that was first developed to strip and clean flight decks of US Navy aircraft carriers. Still part of their equipment’s functional use, shot blasting is also an imperative part of other coatings manufacturers’ recommended preparation methods. The correct profiles obtained through shot blasting were crucial to the success of those early flight deck coatings and their longevity. Just as the correct profile is the most important step of other successful coating applications today. From epoxies and urethanes to other polymer coatings, and even for some decorative applications of the newer cementitious top-coatings, Blastrac quality equipment is most preferred for dependable and repeatable results of proper profiling and surface preparation. Or, if you would prefer to email your submission, send the serial number of the 1-10D machine, a brief description of your use for it, how long you’ve had ownership, and a few photographs to info@blastrac.com. Blastrac will review submissions and contact the owner of the selected machine to make arrangements to transport the machine to Blastrac for final inspection and testing, and then on to World of Concrete in January.

Submissions must be received no later than October 15, 2010.

The winning entrant will receive round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations for three nights, and attendee entrance to WOC 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Be sure to watch the Blastrac website for further details and photos of some of the entries with the stories behind their success.

The Front Wheel Kit lifts up the machine to allow for free rolling. It makes loading a breeze since there is no more tilting back! The robust design of the Front Wheel Kit can take abuse and can also be tilted up while the machine is in use which adds 60 lbs of head force!

The Front Wheel Kit features two industrial swivel casters, weighs 60 lbs and is laser welded to match the design of the machine.

Grand Opening A Success

In March 2010, Quest Building Products had its official Grand Opening at both Anaheim and San Diego locations.

Quest Building Products Grand Opening at Anaheim and San Diego Locations

Quest Building Products is pleased to announce its official Grand Opening in Anaheim on March 5, 2010 and in San Diego on March 12, 2010. Events will be held at each store location and will include giveaways and product demonstrations from vendors. Local council members from the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce will be in attendance for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on March 5th at noon. Quest Building Products first opened its doors in Anaheim in February 2009 and has since bought out Kretus Group, a decorative concrete supply distributor, to secure its presence in San Diego. Quest Building Products is a distributor of products, supplies and equipment for concrete repair, preparation, protections and decoration. The company is headed by Ron Webber, a veteran in deck and concrete contracting.
